Has anybody had any problems with thier dashboard? mine is all sticky especial when it gets hot, apparently some cars with tan interiors had a tan dash when they came out of the factory which caused a problem with reflection, so they were painted black and it’s the paint that causes the problem, is there a kit available to cover it does anyone know.
www.beautyinthebeast.co.uk do some nice leather kits. They were at last years national
Mine was all sticky too! A days labour from me saw the whole dashboard out of the car
Then I stripped it back to the plastic underneath and sprayed it with black plastikote.
Looks good as new, and much cheaper than the leather covers!
I had the same porblem, covered mine with leather
Instrument cowl cover came from ebay, Mr Gaiter I think.
Close! topgaiters

Must get around to ordering mine
Cheers, where did you get the leather for the dash and did you have to take the dash out to cover it?
I bought a whole hide of automotive quality peforated leather on ebay, it was about £70 I think. I covered the dash in place, but only because I was worried about getting it back in if I took it out.
It was not an easy job, started with a paper template, then cut the leather deliberatley too large and trimmed as I went. The trickiest part was around allt he vents, which is why I added the chrome vent covers.
Hi there
Just been looking at your fab dash cover !!
What did you use to bond it to the plastic dash ?
Cheers
Jeff
