2010 MC 2ltr intermittent judder

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions- i am experiencing some juddering which is intermittent when driving along - this comes and goes but can become concerning- there is nothing evident when stationary and idling - i have had the electronic diagnosis thing plugged in and there are no error codes showing.

I have changed the MAF sensor but i’m not sure if the replacement is any better (ebay guaranteed good user item) as i thought this maybe the issue as fuel consumption isn’t great

There is no evident loss of power and the issue appears seemingly at random at any speed and cannot be worsened or lessened by increasing revs etc!

Any suggestions as what could be tried

Thanks

Doyve

After fitting the MAF - did you do an adaptation to sync it to the ECU ?

Procecure :
Common method to force the NC ECU to recognize new MAF parameters .

  1. Switch ignition ON for 1 minute (engine off).
  2. Switch ignition OFF for 1 minute (do not remove key).
  3. Start engine and hold at 2500 RPM for roughly 3 minutes.
  4. Rev range should automatically drop to idle when complete

Also - have a look in the spark plug holes under the coil packs.

My mate had hesitation and it turned out to be water in the spark plug holes causing a missfire.

You don’t say how many miles, if it’s been serviced regularly, plugs changed etc. Which fuel do you use, E10 or E5, does make a difference on the 2 litre I experienced?

I’ve not heard of this procedure before.
Should this be done after cleaning the MAF?

Edit:
Just found one of your earlier posts and yes, you’re advising it be done after a clean.
