Billing Aquadrome, Northampton 16th - 18th September
The 2011 National Rally will be held at Billing Aquadrome - where on the 18th September 1994 the first gathering of MX-5’s was held and a decision was taken to form an official “Chapter of the Miata Club of America” from which the club as we know it today has grown. Billing has plenty of open space and a variety of facilities which will be supplemented by the usual traders plus other stalls of general interest and a live Jazz Band will be playing for your entertainment during the day.
Friday 16th – Get together Buffet and Quiz
Our chosen hotel The Marriott, Northampton – accommodation is £80 Double BB or £60 Single BB (please book direct quoting MX-5 the price is the same for Friday or Saturday night) this will be the venue for the evening with all invited from 19.30hrs, with the quiz commencing approx 20.00hrs. This will be a light hearted general knowledge quiz with a break for refreshments at a cost of £5 per head.

Saturday 17th – Track Events, Drives, Evening Meal with Guest Speaker and Disco
Track Action Silverstone
This is your chance to test your skills and your car’s performance on Stowe Circuit which is part of Silverstone the world re-known “Home of Motor Racing”.

Scenic Drives
There will also be 4 scenic drives leaving from Silverstone finishing at various places of interest within Northamptonshire. Find us at the Owners Club marquee from 8.30am at the Stowe Circuit where Area members will be on hand to welcome you and offer assistance and advice. These drives will be available to you during the course of the day enabling you to participate in the track events or to be a spectator before or after completing one or more of the drives. Photographer
A photographer will also be on site to take your photographs either on the track or just at Silverstone and will be available for purchase via www.shireenbroadhurst.co.uk
Evening Entertainment
The evening meal will be held at the Marriott Northampton from 19.30hrs with our guest after dinner speaker Rod J Calvert OBE, who we are sure, will entertain you whilst explaining some of the challenges faced by vehicle developers in meeting the requirements of customers including an account of his professional meetings with Toshiko Hirai San. (please see booking form) and whilst we no longer need a tool box in the boot.
Sunday 18th – The National Rally
Entrance to Billing Aquadrome will be free to all MX-5 Owners compliments of the MX-5 Owners Club, a saving of £10 per car. Many of the usual traders will be on site, plus others offering a variety of wares to tempt all. Our local Mazda Dealer, Rockingham Cars will be displaying the latest models. A live Jazz Band will be playing for your entertainment throughout the day, plus all the normal show and shine competitions with a new category of concours being introduced for the first time with trophies to be won.

There are also 80 places available for Auto Test Competition which will involve driving a set course using first and reverse gears. More info here.

Also on Sunday you will receive a 51 question quiz in your goody bag along other surprise gifts and Rally plaque which you will need to collect from the Registration Desk. The quiz when completed will need to be returned Ted Mckay, 42 Meadow View, Potterspury, Northants, NN12 7PH and all correct entries will be entered into a free draw, with a prize awarded to the winner.
Please remember that the task of organising the National Rally is carried out completely by volunteers and we would therefore respectfully ask all members to make early applications to assist us in providing services and facilities reflective of expected attendees.
