I went into my local Mazda dealer today (Cardiff Mazda), and went to book my car in for it’s 54k service… Now I know that it’s a cam belt, few pumps, all the fluids, etc… But I wasn’t expecting them to say a quotation figure “quite” so large! (£610!) So what sort of price have you guys paid? And does anyone know anywhere near me that could do it as good/better for less!?
Dont know anywhere near you but that sounds very expensive.
I bought my car from Supercar Classics in cheshire - had 58k on the clock so got them to do a full service and cambelt change total price £249
£610 is absolutely bananas imo
I would be swerving the dealers
I take it we are talking about a Mk1 or 2 here?
I think the dealers round our way charge about £400-ish
Sorry really should have said that it was in reference to a Mk 2.5 52 plate. Does seem a bit much though… ?
Mines a 03 plate
Hmm…Thinking about it he did say that the price quoted was with a higher labour rate than i’d be getting because of the cars age or something… Think that knocks it down to about £510… Still a lot though! Obviously this isn’t a “normal” service though, so how much should I be looking at for that?
Eh? I don’t get that - they have two labour rates, one for newer cars and one for older cars? Weird.
Yeh very… just wish I could find a well-liked approved Mazda Specialist not too far away
Im getting tempted to take it home for a service to these guys: http://www.sghbodyworks.co.uk/ anyone had any experiences?
Hi, just booked my mx in for full service and cam belt change and was quoted £275 for all the work at my local dealers here in Dundee.www.barnetts.co.uk
I have used them many times in the past both via their Volvo and Mazda dealships and found them to be very good and very fair.
Wow… That a bit more of a difference than I was expecting… And I’m not exactly prepared to pay double what other dealers are willing to offer!?
