IMPORTANT INFORMATION - REGENCY HOTEL SCAM!!!
Some of our members who are partaking in the Highclere visit and staying at The Regency Hotel have received an email, supposedly from Emma at the Regency Park Hotel reception desk.
The email states that there is one required step related to the stay at the hotel on the 11th and 12th April, but gives a different booking reference to the one they had and If I didn’t click on “complete now” within 24 hours I would lose the booking.
There is no further hotel information, etc., on the email - so to me it seems a scam, possibly somebody has hacked into the hotel booking system!
I ran this past Jeff on the IOW who is coordinating the hotel bookings with The Regency Hotel and they have confirmed that they do not have an Emma working at the hotel - without clicking on any links within the email!
The hotel apologises for this issue and they are trying to deal with the problem.

We’ve received a similar email supposedly from the hotel in France that we’re staying in after the Laon trip. It was asking for identity info which we’ve already provided so Kevin realised after looking into it further, that it was a scam.

Mal, just got off the phone to the hotel, they will honour the discounted rate for the 11th April and confirmed our booking. They were trying to charge me the full rate. We will join you for dinner. David

Good afternoon everyone,
I have just had a 50 minute long telephone conversation with Jeff on the IOW and we have finalised all the payments for the Highclere Castle Visit and the Hare & Hounds Evening Meal
I sent the Highclere Castle monies to Jeff a while back and he has now paifd Hughclere for 53 tickets and 3 Extra Day tickets, as Jeff bought 1 extra ticket and I bought 2 extra tickets.

We have now finalised the booking for Highclere Castle in April and I noted that you expressed an interest, on the MX5OC Forum, in visiting Highclere but our attendees list was already over-subscribed, so I had you on my reserves list.
We tried to purchase more tickets but Highclere unfortunately limited our numbers for this visit, so I can only apologise that you did not make the final list of attendees.
