I’ve put my MX-5 up for sale following a traumatic and expensive MOT. I should get the car back today after 10 days and £600. I decided that it is too much money for the few days I will drive it over the summer, especially when the cost of garage rental, insurance etc are taken into account.
So it’s in the for sale forum now, and may appear on ebay in a few days.

What the hell needed doing for £600! 
You could probably put an engine, clutch, gearbox and suspension in for around that price (DIY)!
Either that or break the car as is without the work and put the money you get plus the £600 to buy another one.
Though if you only use it now and again it might not be worth the hassle I suppose.

Probably adds up to £300
Then the turbo manifold was cracked and required a lot of labour to fix it.

Other stuff is all running costs/consumables though and should be expected.
