ABS fault finding on a 2000 NB

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NB
  2. I’m based near: London
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: ABS fault light

Hi there, I am trying to fault find on my NB. The ABS light is on but the ABS seems to work so I am assuming it is a faulty sensor.

I would like to know how to diagnose which sensor this is. I thought I might be able to use an OBD2 scanner but that doesn’t seem to be the case as there is no port next to the fuse box where google says it should be on a MK2/NB.

There is a port in the engine bay (passenger side) that you need to bridge two holes and the dashboard then blinks and gives you a code to lookup…https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-xIj2Ouweho

Oh fantastic!

I was looking at these flashing fault codes and I couldn’t find any to do with the ABS stuff.

Thank you so much!

You are welcome. I had similar issue awhile ago…had to replace driver side sensor…absolute beach lol

oooh ABS sensors, start with the penetrating oil daily on the sensor bolts. They have a nasty habit of shearing off.
