Adequate engine cooling for mk1 turbo track use

Hi all

Will hopefully be buying a mk1 turbo when the right one comes up, it will be a occasional road and track day car, and I was wondering if I should worry about getting rid of hot air around the turbo, and other places?

Any first hand experience?

Cheers

Much depends on the current cooling setup. Turbos create alot of heat and if you intend to track the car you will be on boost for sustained periods of time. It would be advisable to get a proper temperature gauge to monitor properly then if needed uprate the radiator, look at a coolant reroute and consider oil cooling and bonnet venting.
