An Appeal From Delivery Drivers Everywhere!

yeah i should reitterate,
tips will only work on food delivery drivers
whilst Clearly marking your house number and street name will work on all drivers!

clearly marking your house name number and street not only makes the driver’s job easier but also makes YOUR life better!
after all, if the package driver can find you straight away, that’s less time you have to spend waiting for him!
it also cuts the chance of your parcel going next door or down the street!
clearly marking your house name, number and street has no downsides that I can see! and has a lot of upsides!
and for those whose houses are behind or down a driveway. make a little sign and stick it on the wall or hammer it into the ground, I saw one of these the other day and it literally saved me 10minutes of looking and a phone call to the house. so in short because they made a sign, their food was still hot! instead of just warm! and that’s just on that One occasion.

so basically 5 mins easy work will pay itself back on you in positive ways for a lifetime!

edit i meant to post this at bluebird not karen!
sorry about that

EDIT
so Christmas eve tips!
so it was Christmas eve and it was raining!
i did 30 deliveries and i got just 3 tips that came to £5;80pence
10 years ago on a rainy Christmas eve, I would get 20 to 30 pounds on average! but that’s when everyone still paid cash at the door!
I remember one Christmas eve, about 7 or 8 years ago, i got nearly £60 in tips, one guy even tipped me £20 note that night.

We have a plaque with 5 The ******** clearly printed on it and large enough to be seen from the other side of the road, the house round the corner has the same plaque with 5 ******** Drive, again clearly printed and readable from the other side of the road. But time after time, we get their parcels and they get ours. Any explanation from this for any of the already paid delivery drivers on here?

i am a food delivery guy.
and whilst I don’t like to be unkind, I will admit that some of the parcel guys can be more than a bit useless!

I just wonder if it is amazon parcels that you are having a problem with?
because Amazon is notorious for tracking their drivers and telling their drivers by computer where to put the parcels and the driver has zero say in the matter!

It seemsto be all of them. We even get food delivery drivers knocking on the door(takeaways). We never have problems with Morrisons though. (Other food del services are available)

When my daughter moved house it was a nightmare trying to find it for the first time. Confusion also as there was a 14 and 14a, we knocked on both after eventually finding the two doors.
She has troubles with deliveries but when she has the tracker thing and map (Amazon) she can more or less go out and find a lost delivery driver because she knows they are there…somewhere:thinking::grin:

real-time tracking is great for customers. i know i like to use it whenever I’m waiting on a parcel.

Real-time tracking isn’t so great for some of the drivers tho. particularly amazon drivers
but then again with all the bad publicity amazon have as an employer, anyone daft enough to take a job with them kind of deserves it!!

Maybe it’s the only job some of them can get, or it keeps them going until something better comes along.
I think most of the delivery drivers are self employed…

There is no one factor involved in getting a delivery or not as in which delivery firm. The success of each individual delivery in dependent on a good number of things; the driver, the number of “drops” he has, the time of year/daylight hours, the weather, road conditions etc… Get 'em right and you’ll get your parcel, if not…
