I would respectfully recommend that this thread be locked.
There have been other threads regarding this supplier, and they have not ended well on some occasions, to the point of threats to “going legal”
I have no personal experience of the business bar un-returned calls & emails years back, at which point I just gave up and bought elsewhere.
I think we all really have bigger fish to fry unless you feel genuinely aggrieved and can prove 100% you are out of pocket with a vehicle not fit for purpose or considerably not as advertised.
What we must recognise now is that the truly mint & boxed import Roadsters are pretty much long gone. and generally what would have been regarded, by comparison ten years back as 2nd division, are more the norm. Caveat Emptor in bucket loads from now on in…to include early Mk3s with dodgy bearings & rot.
I still stand by my original statement that there was nothing wrong the spark plugs. The photos posted show a perfectly good spark plug. Don’t be confused by the tiny electrode - that’s exactly how a new-style platinum plug should look.
With regard to Dave’s Blue G-Ltd, I should point out that car was sold by me many years ago and at quite a low price. Dave forgot to mention that when the engine starting smoking, we took the car back and fitted a replacement engine at our expense.
This is going to turn into a tit-for-tat episode which seems pointless. The simple fact of the matter is that we could easily have told both customers to take a hike and leave them to it - but we didn’t. We repaired and sorted out the problems and I know many dealers who simply wouldn’t do that. As it happens, in both cases, we were then left rubbish reviews anyway so in hindsight, we would have been better off just leaving the buyers to sort out their own problems anyway and we’d be many hundreds of pounds better off.
It was 4 years ago this month and I don’t think £1995 was ‘quite a low price’.
Post 15 states ‘I too bought a car from here, in fairness they did recover & return it with a new windscreen, hood and replacement engine.’
Perhaps you would like to expand on where I have left ‘rubbish reviews’. This is the first time I have commented on this episode since I wrote to you after you repaired the car, I can post the letter & your reply if you would like reminding.
As you state ‘tit for tat’ is pointless but please lets get the facts right.
