The belt snapped the other day while driving so i’m unable to compare the old belt and i’m looking for recommendations of which belt to get to replace it.

Have you tried your local motor factors?
If you give them the vehicle registration number they should be able to provide a belt.
“Gates” are a good alternative to OEM.
Failing that, your local Mazda agent ought to be able to bring up a drawing and order the correct belt if they don’t have it in stock.
Lastly, consider giving someone like MX-5Parts a call.
There’s a fair chance they’ll know which belt you need and sell you one there and then.

Gates is always good.
The gates part number replacement belt (no aircon) is 058-009-005. Bofi racing had them for around a tenner when I got ours
