Velcro tagged to the steering wheel does the job for me.

If the ND is anything like an NC, you don’t want to be doing this. On the NC the adaptive ECU has to relearn the settings when the battery is reconnected and, depending on model, the TCS etc may need resetting.

The mxs 3.8 CTEK is sufficient for an ND.

Thanks JS46 and Glosrich!

Had flat battery week before last - plugged in the c-tek and it did the job so I used the MX a week ago and then tried it again yesterday (without having given it a dose of the c-tek); it started on the button - so I did all my weekly allowable lockdown chores in the MX and came home with the top down -MAGIC. I had a similar problem last year in a cold snap - c-tek to the rescue then.
I think I need to run the car weekly in cold weather or pop on the c-tek after 6/7 days of inactivity. Hope your problem is sorted now . The c-tek model recommended should do the trick - if not get a sure start! E.

Hi Elaine,
C-tek has done the trick so thanks for following up. I will make sure to keep an eye on the battery in future.

Trouble now with all the snow I can’t get out and give it a spin!.

I think Richard is spot on. The cold temeratures also have an effect - get a smart charger, you do not have to pay a fortune £10 - £20 , but check it covers AGM batteries e.g. and a few additions such as Winter/summer charging etc and suitable for a 50Ah battery.
cheers

I had a similar issue recently and purchased a battery cut off switch so that when the car was not in use all electric stuff like boot lights, interior lights, radio, clock etc did not drain the battery.
Also if it is an older car mine was a MK1 the negative battery connector had split and every time I tightened the terminal the crack opened wider and was not connecting properly so worth checking those terminal connections
