I live on a country road, quite wide a straight. Came home from shopping on Monday with a series 3 convertible attached to my rear bumper. As I approached my house I put the left indicator on, slowing down as I did so, came to a stop, put my hazard warning lights on and idiot just sat there. I turned round a waved him on, after much revving and roaring it backed up then pulled up alongside me. “What’s your f-ing problem?” demanded the retard driving it, “Nothing” I replied, “I live here and thought that maybe you’d want to continue on your journey, that’s all”. He wheel-spun off mouthing obscenities as he went. Don’t you just love them!
A 12 year old boy was walking down the street when a car pulled up beside him and the window was wound down.
I’ll give you a bag of lollies if you get in the car, said the male driver.
“No way, get stuffed”, replied the boy.
How about a bag of lollies and £10 asked the driver?
“No way” , replied the irritated youngster.
“What about a bag of lollies and FIFTY pounds, eh”? quizzed the driver, still rolling slowly to keep up with the walking boy.
“No, I’n not getting in the car!” answered the boy.
“OK, I know what you want - I’ll give you £100 and a bag of lollies” the driver offered.
“NO,” screamed the boy.
What will it take to get you into the car"? asked the driver sighing.
The boy replied: “Listen Dad, you brought a *****ing BMW - you live with it!”
Maybe it’s just a Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Humberside thing, but by far the most inconsiderate motorway drivers seem to be Audi drivers. (company car drivers at a guess)
I drive a Toyota Hilux all day for work and the rear bumper seems to act as an Audi magnet at legal motorway speeds…, plus the odd beemer and white van man. My vehicle is location and speed tracked so speeding is a definite no no.
You do come across other bad drivers and I’m in no way saying all Audi/BMW/white van men are mad tailgaters. And apologies to anyone on here who owns the aforementioned and is in fact a careful considerate driver. I’m just speaking from first hand experience
I had a lovely chat with a gorgeous lady in an A4 convertible who was alongside whilst stuck in traffic the other day, so they’re not all bad![]()
There are so many bad drivers these days. But I have to admit that I do find BMW drivers the worst, on the whole. My MX5 is a second car, and I mainly use it on B roads, which are plenty in Cumbria. It’s just great to escape from all the inpatient so and so’s in their Panzer wagons, tailgating, and dangerous overtaking, on poor, overly congested A roads. I guess it’s what the MX5 is good for, no fun on A roads to be had around here. I should’ve bought an MX5 years ago, it’s not about speed, or prestige, just having fun. Prestige cars are really not for me, everybody to their own though.
It’s amazing what fun you can have in a car, that I would guess costs less than a years lease hire of a typical new, average BMW, Audi etc.
Now have a BMW 3 series and enjoy pestering middle class geriatrics doing 20 mph on dual carriageways.
Also fun up the arse of MX5s who think you are unmarked police.![]()
Good for you.
Be aware of unmarked BBRs right up yours. ![]()
BMWs? I thought the fastest thing on the road ( the M6 anyway) was an Astramax Diesel Van - in white!!
I went out in my other little car today, which is a Liege (just 993cc but supercharged, looks like a 1950s sports car) and on my way home in traffic was briefly behind a BMW 4 litre coupe. He kept looking in his rear view mirror then once on the dual carriageway he got to the speed limit and pulled over to let me pass. So I took the opportunity; I think he just wanted to look at the car…he gave me a nod as I went by him.
…So BMW drivers aren’t all hooligans.
That’s why I own one, too.
With an oversized ladder held on the roof rack by a hairy arm from the drivers window…

I’ve got a BMW 330ci. 232 bhp. Wonderful to drive, and the quality of the gizmos and engineering is amazing. I’m still trying to change my views on BMW drivers whilst being one. But most of them are complete S…S.
I shall drive responsibly, and hope that one day someone will let me out of a side road. The ZF steptronic 'box is staggering. Come on guys, give us a break, we’ll be in the MX5 tomorrow.
The thing that gets me is when they’re pottering along 15mph under the speed limit, you overtake, then they overtake you again just to come back in the left lane and drop down to 60 again.
I just don’t understand some people ![]()
My other car is a petrol 330i Bmer…I rarely drive it but like to when i get the chance, mine’s around 280 bhp and is pretty pokey but I rarely do more than the road or traffic allows, Bmers do get bad press but I also think people will leap on the band wagon when Bmers are in the news for the wrong reason, I think badge envy maybe be the case but for why ? my choice of car has nothing at all to do with anyone weather they agree or not.
I Just enjoy driving it when i can and keep myself to myself even though have been buzzed by a few numpties looking for a quick drag down the a24… Yeah, lets not be all tarred with the same sticky brush;… anyway,…the suns out now for a while.
Oh and I’m a Yorkshire man…
