Brake pads and Racing oil

During my first track day at Bedford after around 5 laps I did notice my brakes going off.

Although they faired well, as I’m still a novice, they did fade , so time for better pads, racing oil and braided hoses to begin with.

What are the recommended pads for fast road/track day use?

For my air cooled it’s Ferodo DS2500 or Mentex 1144’s pads and ATE blue racing brake fluid.

I generally use EBC Yellow stuff pads in my Mk1 1.8 Trackday car with Millars racing brake fluid and braided lines and have always been happy with that setup, at the moment I’ve got some Roddeson pads in the front and although they work really well once warmed up they do have a bit of a tendency to lock the fronts up (no ABS on my car) which has led to a couple of exciting moments. I don’t remember ever suffering from a soft pedal or fading brakes with that setup.

You need our rear pads too… That way you will have a perfect ballance.
