I recently bought a used Kizuna from a main dealer but rejected it when I discovered a badly repainted wing and bumper
I’m looking at ND3 2.0L models now, even though I’d originally decided on a 1.5
I discovered over the weekend that MX-5s registered after 1st Sept 25 qualify for 6 yrs warranty rather than 3. Do folks think that its worth paying a premium for the extra warranty? The price difference in the pre- Sept vs post- Sept 2025 cars I’m looking at varies from £1700 to £2500
100%. Unless you PCP cars or similar, and ‘hand it back’ after 3 or so years. It’s irrelevant then.
If you’re buying it, and intend on keeping it until a date you currently don’t know, I wouldn’t look at a 3 year warranty version, if I were in the market for a new/pre reg or sub one year old ND.
If you’re planning to keep it long term and it brings you peace of mind, then yes. If you think you’ll be financially better off as a consequence, probably not. I’d be surprised if many people have had £1500 or more in claimable issues in years 3-6. It’s an extremely reliable car - and after 10 years of refinement, doesn’t have a lot that goes wrong.
