Car won't de-immobilise

Ok…all thats happened is my car has been left outside in the cold overnight…come to it this morning and the thing refuses to de-immobilise. I’ve even taken the steering cowl off and held the toad fob right next to it.

It’s never ever happened before…what could it be?

P.S i’ve turned the lights onto full beam and they are definitely working, so the battery is good (can’t really find a need to use my multimeter as if it was low enough to affect he immobiliser the lights wouldn’t be anything other than candle bright)

Could it be related to my coil pack issues?

Is there anything to sugrgest that it is not a simpler issue, such as it being slightly flooded?

You could try spraying some WD40 on to a cloth, and wiping down all of the HT leads, and you might want to remove a few plugs to check that they don’t show signs of any problems.

It could be the coil pack, but I would be looking at the cheaper things first, with my fingers crossed!

The coil pack bit is unrelated tbh,(its breaking down currently for sure so needs replacing) didn’t know whether immobilisers sensed whether the circuit to the engine electrics was ok to open.
 Effectively what normally happens is
Get in car -> put in key turn to position 2 -> transponder talks to immobilizer, charge and brake lights light up and off we go
If the immobiliser is cannot see the transponder the immobiliser light flashes rapidly, usually a quick jangle of the transponder on the keyring solves the problem (as it moves it closer to the aerial that detects it)
Today, turn to position 2 all i get is rapid flashing of the light no matter what i do with the transponder

 sorted. was a duff fob/transponder
