Chipex. Has anyone used it and what do you think?

Hi Drew

The thought occured to me too.  I thought it meant rubbing harder and also that it maybe became too sticky and pulled the rest of the paint off with it.  The instructions say allow the paint to dry, there is no time limit and if its a case of getting that bit just right with guess work then it’s not a great product really.

seems pretty expensive, anyone else tried it with more luck? would be interested if it actually worked lol…

I have used this effectively in conjunction with Mazda touch up paint;

looks interesting! and cheaper!

I’ve used Langka for several years on various cars.  It works well if you have a deep chip which will hold the paint but not in small ones.  You also need to judge the dyring time.  Use the Langka too soon and the paint comes out, too late and you’ve got quite a lot of work to remove the surrounding blob.  It can work well however and I keep a pot around for the right occasions.

I think the Chipex is a similar principle (not tried it yet myself), but uses a specially formulated paint which works with their blob remove solution (Langka works with normal paint but is a but more effort).
