The chrome filler flap has justed started to peel off in small amount does any one know have to arrest this corroision
Once chrome starts to go its diificult to stop - might slow down a little if you apply a little wax to the edges where its flaking - usually necessary to strip, clean and rechrome though in the long run as water gets under the coating
What sort of cost would you be looking at to strip and rechrome a fuel filler cap, then? I ask because I’ve noticed two or three on Ebay recently with flaking chrome, and I was wondering whether it would be cost effective to pick one up for cheap and have it rechromed, instead of buying a new one …
