does anyone know how to remove the clutch footrest, my feet are obviously too wide as when operating clutch my shoes occasionally catch on the plate and not the pedal

I have a similar problem on my current 2019 ND and my 2007 NC Sport had the same problem too.
On the ND you take out 2 (i think) carpet fasteners near to the rest and carefully ease the carpet out and look behind to see how to release it… The foot rest is attached to the carpet but I can not remember how. I know because to fit the Mazda alloy covers you have to get behind the foot rest. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your input chaps, finally got to grovel on the drive as its supprisingly stopped raining, on my car there are two small studs protruding from the firewall, a 10mm socket removed the domed nuts and a bit of levering with a screwwdriver removed the plastic footrest, what a difference no more getting stuck between the pedal and footrest. I could drive in wellies if I needed to.
