Going for a new clutch in my 1.6 libtre Mk1
MX5 parts offer (amongst others) an IL Motorsports kit at around £100 or a Sachs at £174
If I’m going to get the work done anyway, should I go for the more expensive one?
I don’t do trackdays or anything - think far too much of my lovely Mk1 and don’t want her dented!
Sachs is a name I know and trust in the clutch world, so I would personally choose them. The way I see it, the extra cost of the kit will be relatively small compare to your overall bill, and you want that clutch in there and working for another 100k miles, so there is simply no point scrimping on the quality of the kit.
