Further to my earlier discussion in the old forum (link above)…
I asked Morrisons for a copy of the petrol test report, they quite specifically said they had carried out, ruling out contamination of their fuel. I also pointed out the obvious facts - my car was fine, I bought their petrol, my car broke down, the garage tested all logical problems, and concluded the ONLY cause of the breakdown was contaminated petrol.
Morrisons have replied saying that they cannot give me a copy of the report as a test on the petrol was not carried out. Apparently this was a “typing error” in their previous letter! They still say because they have no other reports of cars suffering a similar problem, they are not liable.
I will be taking this further and will update the forum. If anyone else has experienced similar problems, I would be interested to hear what happened and if they managed to resolve it.
