I think it’s just amazing that people just don’t report these things considering the amount of people that
Use it, it’s just I’ll leave it to someone else. E Mail on the way. ( about path and street lamp )
There is some enabling going on - Grant Shapps announced a while back funds for improving roads/removing potholes etc. However our local council seem to be misusing the funds, surface-dressing roads that don’t need it (and making them horrible for cycling on), “Donegal Dollops” for some of the potholes but leaving others untouched etc. etc.
(“Donegal Dollop” - when we last visited Donegal a few years back we saw open-backed trucks going along the road, couple of guys in the back throwing dollops of tarmac into the potholes, andother couple of guys flattening then down with spades! One of the neighbouring farmers told us that they were hored from time to time to drive tractors overs the newly-dolloped tarmac to flatten it!)
John-M - telescopic seatpost?
We have something similar to “Donegal Dollops” round here. As you approach the relevant piece of road there’s a sign that says “Caution - Running Repairs” and that’s what they are literally! As you say one guy on the back of a slow-moving open back truck chucking out tarmac at the holes and two guys running along behind, one with a broom and one with a shovel pushing it into(?) the holes.
Derbyshire County Council seem to have a novel approach to mending roads. They have run out of funds so when a road needs repairs they simply close it.
Not forgetting "Southend Slop ", the black mush/Porridge that they spread on knackered footpaths because its cheap and quick, that dries out with the trowel lines still in it , which then cracks allowing weeds to grow out of it after a few months
I’ll try it again - mine is a P6R which might be the most awkward Brompton available. I also have Eazy Wheels and I don’t have the telescopic seatpost so I have made it as hard as possible.
John M - how’d you get on? BTW mine is a P6R, telescopic seatpost, no eaziwheels (just the small o0nes), and I have to remove the car’s tyre inflator to get a bit of extra room. The telescopic post allows easy removal of the saddle, maybe if you just remove it the bike might go in?
