One other old chestnut, usually directed at women or elderly is….”we have noticed that your tracking is out, it’s dangerous and can cause an accident” ![]()
If I can’t leave good feedback then I leave nothing at all, except for Amazon or eBay etc… where feedback helps fellow buyers
Another good one. In a dacia joint the other day and literally playing with the salesman (if you know what I mean), to see at what point he’d tell the truth. I asked if they get the new Duster in manuals, to test drive, as I didn’t want to test drive an auto I wasn’t interested in. He said they’re never in, no one (as in owner) sells them. Wrong: They had two in just before the new year, now sold. Next I commented on the new 140hp engine, compared to the 130hp one. No different, no quicker, no more efficient, apparently. Wrong: Quicker by 1/2 sec to 62mph and better mpg. I then asked how it handled (it’s an SUV Duster remember). Great I was told. In the twisties, if you’re into cars and driving I asked? Great at that too (a Duster, remember). I thought I’d push the envelope and said I’ve read the Jogger handles with practicality like an ‘everyday sports car’. Yes he said, it does.
At this point I wondered if i said a red car was blue, he’d have said yes lol

A local car selling outfit, what you call a car supermarket had been taken over by a big name company so I went to view a car. The place is now Arnold Clark so taken over again. Anyways when it went big they also cordoned off the sales pitch so you had to pass through the showroom to view the cars, seemed like top security, you shall not pass. Of course it was to reel you in before you even viewed a car. Made a mistake of buying from them, never went back again, worse experience ever. The car seemed to be a bad en as well, got rid pretty quickly. Hated the process of buying a car, the were three desks to visit, the first was ‘the deal’ working out the numbers for selling/part ex. The next move over to finance, I don’t want it, you might was the reply, do it anyway. The next was extras and servicing deals, trying to sound like I’m not sexist, women fluttering their stuck on eyelashes, heavy makeup on and talking loads of bull**** even my wife couldn’t wait to exit that place, she can’t stand the smell of perfume. Anyways to their dismay I didn’t buy any of it, just the car.
Roll on later when I purchased a car (new) on-line from a dealer about 100 miles away, they tried the same tactics, I flatly refused to budge from the seat facing the salesman stating, give me the invoice I’ll pay and be on my way. They thought I was being awkward/odd/unreasonable, I just wanted to buy a car that’s all. That one was good one, kept it 10 years.
My local garage who also sells just a few cars are completely the opposite. The women 2 of, treat you with respect, one is a real car enthusiast knowing a great deal about cars and the mechanics can fix anything, any make, if they can’t they own up and tell you so. They don’t fob you off with, you need this and that if you didn’t, although I’ve never given them my MX-5 to fix, no need so far, I’d trust them with it.
If you divert anywhere from the norm, that’s often how you’re looked at. In many aspects of life, not just car sales.
Folk in my street also think I’m odd because I wash my own car, clean my own house windows off a ladder and jet wash my own wheelie bins, I could go on.![]()

Update
Apologies for extrapolating ‘Dealer servicing feedback rating’ to ‘Generally providing feedback’ across Life, the Universe and (almost) Everything ! which many of us are expected to do these days
Good News…..I’ve been excused Jury Service for the second time due to health conditions
Bad News…….They can keep asking me again for another 8 years [even though my health conditions likely to worsen]
‘the feedback system is broken’
They asked me to fill in a Feedback Questionnaire on their decision to excuse me for the second time
NOT clicked on the link
Because imho the feedback system is already broken because if it wasn’t I wouldn’t be being asked to do Jury Service again and again and again for the foreseeable future !
Unfortunately there’s no mechanism to leave your feedback on feedback itself.
The good news is that at most companies, it is someone’s job to review and report bad ratings and generally things do improve. My own pet hate is when an email asks for feedback or a Trustpilot review before they’ve even delivered the item. Though I will give credit when due, nagging gets a lesser rating.
Email to CEO usually works with most companies.
It might require some digging, but they usually choose the shortest and easiest to remember!
The PA usually intercepts and does most of the work.
