Hi Simon
I really like Lake Country Constant Pressure Pads. They perform well without clogging and the wear rate is the best Ive seen
Have a look here for options on your test car …depends what it is…and on your 5 (Finishing Pad)

I’ve also been thinking about buying a DA polishing machine. Thanks for the info by the way guys. Chris the pads that you mention above, how many would I need to apply a mild polish to my car, and then a finishing wax? Just they’re not exactly cheap, and I’m guessing that I would need more than one for each stage, as I’d imagine that they would clog up after a couple of panels. Then again I’ve only hand waxed cars before. Thanks.
One pad for each job…or wash out and use the next day. They shouldn’t clog…you only need a small amount of polish
I use 4 pea sized blobs on a 6" Pad per panel
Finishing pads are all you need for Mazda paint
I’ve tried contacting this lot a few times now but never had a reply. Maybe they’re just too busy.
I’ve used http://auto-gleam.com/ a couple of times. Not a detailing company as such but they do a lovely job and are very reasonably priced.
failed to bag the rupes, so looking at alternatives now.
possibly a das6 machine as they seem popular.
I looked at all the machines available and didnt want to spend hundreds as I wasnt sure how I would get on with one - so took a chance on one of these - must say, its bloody superb and worth every penny. Comes with pads and a bag - just add polish. The only downside is the cable could be a bit longer, but I’m delighted with the quality and ease of use. Mine was £75 which was half the price of some of the others, but seems to have the same features. Just buy one.
Cheers
That looks like a pretty decent beginners machine
What polish have you used with it?
I am not an expert and the polishes are as numerous and complicated as the machines - so I used some basic Autoglym resin polish - which has a light cutting action and works well , then hand finished with some MER sealing wax over the top. I have also used it with the Turtlewax T-cut colour polish on a soft pad and that stuff works well too. I’m sure there are loads of others that are better. I did clay the car first - that was a revelation itself when you do it for the first time !!
The polisher is dead easy to use and no fear of doing any damage I didnt feel.
Cheers
HI
Im not a fan of AGSRP…its very heavy with fillers, so its really only a temporary scratch/swirl fix and will come back after a couple of washes
Like wise, TW Colour ‘Polish’ is simply a coloured glaze and isnt a polish at all
Get yourself some Finishing Polish and apply a small amount to a finishing pad and polish until clear…This way. light swirls are being permanently removed and not masked
Then apply a good sealant or wax
Good luck
looks good for the price i suppose.
what is the orbit size ? as i would like to compare with a das6 machine. does it matter that much?
cheers
I have some Meguirs ultimate compound which I bought - I haven’t really had need to use it in anger as the paint is pretty good ( even after using AG
)
Any suggestions regarding best stuff to use ?
Thanks
Scholl S30 for swirls…S17 for light scratches

Bear in mind that Mazda paint is thin and soft…so no more than a finishing Pad or youre taking a risk
Agreed, although I prefer Carpro Reflect for the MX5 :).
Will be interesting to see how much bite it has to get rid of some swirls on the BMW…
Never used it or even heard of it
Google…Here we come
EDIT: Shop Carpro Reflect Polish | Finishing Polish | Slim's Detailing — Slims Detailing
Knowing BMW Paint…It will be hard work with that…I await your feedback
i have the das6 pro with meguiars hex logic kit…bought around 6 months since , from cleanyourcar.com at cost of £145.
its had approx 3hrs use…it is no good for my back…( 2 slipped discs, 2 cracked vertabrae )
would be willing to sell £100 plus postage if anyone interested.
