What difference is there between the 1.6 engines from the early mk1 cars and the late mk1 cars?
I have just bought a late mk1 1.6 and would like it to be as quick as my previous car but was wondering why it has so much less power from what looks to be the same block?
I am guessing cams and fuel/spark map.
Anyone?

You presumably meant http://www.miata.net/ rather than “Miatia”. In this particular instance, it’s less helpful, as the 1995-onwards 1.6 was never sold in the North American market.
