Afternoon, l have fitted Eibach Lowering Springs on my rf launch edition. 30mm drop, what a improvement. Looks a lot better and handling and ride also improved. Didn’t have to reset any systems at all, No lights came on the dash.

Post some pictures up mate!

It’s a great mod isn’t it… Cosmetically it looks so much better, handles better and no compromise on comfort.

Your headlight resting height position should be reset at the same time, if you had the springs fitted at a dealer they may have done this for you. If not there are two methods to achieve this, either change the levelling rod (back left suspensio) or follow the electronic levelling reset process (details here https://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/yaf_postsm704505_MK4-ND-Headlamp-Auto-Level-Adjust.aspx )

yes very happy in deed.

no l fitted the springs myself. no lights on the dash. also double checked the head light level, all ok. no adjustment what so ever.

sorry im bit new to this site. How can do that? l thought you got to be paid member.

I’m sure I’ll find out on Wednesday when my Eibachs are fitted but I’d be supprised that 30mm lowering would warrant headlight adjustment. I’ve been down a lot lower than that on other cars and never had an issue with this?

Not sure what warning lights you were expecting  to come on, but you will definitely need a 4 wheel alignment and did you tighten all the buches with the car on the ground?

That’s what I thought too when I had my car lowered in spring, come the Autumn when the evenings started drawing in it was noticeable that the beam cut off was lower for rural driving than before the car was lowered, the ODBC level reset procedure took care of this.

Re posting photos - you can post photos as a forum member. Have a look in the folder ‘Forum rules and FAQ’ and see the thread near the top ‘Photo tutorial 2018’ which should help you.

Yes l have checked the 4 wheel alignment and tighten the top arm bushes on the floor. For the head lamp adjustment, did not require. What problems did you have? the lights facing down to the floor?. l have checked my lights on beam tester, all ok.

Glad to find someone that’s fitted the springs themselves! I’m planning on fitting my Eibach Pro springs to my ND this weekend, where did you find the Torque settings for the install? Do you still have them?
Thanks, Mitch.

Headlight level reset is needed on an ND1, not on ND2.

That would explain why neither of mine didn’t need to be adjusted after fitting Eibach lowering kits. My ND Mk.1 SE-L Nav didn’t have that clever headlight system fitted, and my 30AE is a ND Mk.2. Lucky me!!! :+1:
