engine cutting out

Hi all, my 1990 Eunos has developed an intermitant problem. When I drop off the accelerator and drop the clutch down as I come to a junction the engine will occasionaly cut out. It seems to be worse when the engine drops from high revs. The idle drops very low before jumping back up or giving up and cutting out.

I’ve had a look through old posts and have found simular issues with the idle but nothing quite the same. Thought I’d start  by cleaning the flap on the air flow sensor…any other suggestions greatly appreciated!

Base idle

Throttle body

Clutch switch

Three places to check

I agree with Geoff here, but it is also possible that it is just desperate for a service

 Throttle body cleaned out,

MAF sensor flap cleaned

Problem solved![<:o)]  Many thanks for the tips

Hi Geoff, what is the stuff the guy in the photo is spraying into the throttle body??

I wasn’t there when the pic was taken, it was at a tech day in the Tyne Tees Region, and the original thread was by halli. I would use something like this

 Cheers Geoff.
