Engine noise on startup and acceleration

Hi there.
Well thanks for coming back.
Still worth “Double” checking to be “sure”.
The only real way is to have the top cover off and inspect.
I don’t know who makes the kits for these, but always worth going for a good well known brand in my opinion.
Just one of life’s little mysteries really, some never need changing and some do. :man_shrugging:
Personally, it’s a job where everything needs to be in total alignment and done properly, (as you know).
A good independent mechanic will know his/her way around this and I would actually ask them if they had done one of these before.
I was going to do my daughters cam belt on her Polo. But having researched it, it was a real pig of a job and needed special tools etc. So didn’t bother with that.
Get a few quotes and it shouldn’t cost the earth, (money saved on servicing spent on a cam/timing chain kit) and you will also have peace of mind and warranty for the work.
Please let us know how it all goes in the end.
All a matter for your good self.
Good luck. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Will do, there are two Mazda garages near me, so i’ll take it to them. Thanks for your input, that really helped narrow it down.

Your welcome.
Independent might be cheaper and just as good (some times even better). :+1:

Did you ever get this sorted?
