F10 fuse in engine compartment fuse box is for headlight retractor. 30Amp
The one for the instrument cluster is under the dash in the F2 position. 10Amp

Summarising what I think I’ve read - you took the plastics off the steering column and then it wouldn’t start? Or is it that you changed the plugs and leads and then it wouldn’t start? Or did you do both of these jobs at the same time? If it ran before you did either or both of these things then undo what you did and re-do it.
- Put the old plugs and leads back on and try it.
- Remove the plastics and make sure all wiring loom connectors and made up and that any earths are connected correctly then try it.
- Don’t change more than one thing at once.

all good advice. i found the issue and it started beautifully.

ok, here’s the thing, little bit embarrassing. in my defence, i’d previously had to unplug those plastic connectors under the dash, take off the ignition & remove the dash when i revamped the steering and PSR. i’d never done anything like that before. then i had to put it all back together. i even marked certain things during the process to make it easier. but clearly there are a lot of wires down there. one simple mistake. i’d rather leave it at that.
