Largely depends on your skill level and what tools you have available. It also depends on wether you are just replacing the electrics on the egr valve or the complete unit which has coolant running through it.
I did just the electrics last year, Amongst the parts I had to remove were the suspension brace (may not have one on your 5) and part of the bulkhead. From memory I took about 90 minutes.
RoadsterRobbie did a write up on the job a while back, I think it appeared in the club mag.
Might be worth doing a search on YouTube.
