Just a heads up of the first evening drive of 2009 since the lighter evenings will be with us.
Ian has kindly volunteered to lead this one.
Please look out for updates regarding meeting time and place.

Just checked, and the sun sets at about 8pm in mid April (still way better than 4.30 though!). I’ll have a think about what we do / where we go but would definitely be up for any suggestions from those of you who’ve been here before. There is something exhilerating about driving at sunset with the roof off, but i suspect we’re not talking balmy summers evening here. Still let me know if you’ve done anything (or heard about other clubs doing anything) that might make for a great evening.
Unfortunately I wont be there next week (work) or the 5th April (on holiday)
Ian
ps - going to get rain rail fixed this weekend and seats and carpet back in. Very excited!
I’m away on holiday for a week from tomorrow so thought I’d better at least confirm a starting point…
We meet in the Milbury’s car park ready to depart at 7.30. After that its a bit vauge - but I’ll come up with something by the 15th (I’m thinking twisty turny stuff, roof down, lights blazing, music up loud!)
What a great excuse to go out for an evening run when we get back - “got to go love, its research!”
Hope you have a great day on Sunday. See you on the 15th
Ian
ps - rain rail fixed and even cured condensation in the boot. Next job is a cam belt change [:O]
Had to laugh
Got up early yesterday to go out and get route planned for Weds only to be met by the foggiest morning since I dont know when. Got back home and thought I’d log on here and share the experience - only to find the server was down and site out of action!
Never mind. I have a route planned and am looking forward to seeing as many of you as poss on Wednesday. I’m not sure what the form is for the evening drives so I’ve kept it reasonabaly short so we can get back to the pub for a drink etc.
See you tomorrow
Ian
Sounds like typical British weather - it was lovely later on [:)]
No specific form for evening drives - length really depends on amount of light (though certainly not unheard of to end the drive with headlights on!) and weather, and the whim of the person leading the drive i.e. YOU on this occasion!! … and we usually end up somewhere in time for a drink.
I’m sure whatever you’ve come up with will be fine, but please can you try to do something about the weather … it’s not looking much like top-down conditions for tomorrow [:(]
As a reminder to all, it’s meet at the Milbury’s, Beauworth SO24 0PB, ready to leave at 7:30pm prompt.
See you there!
hi,it was nice to meet you all at beaulie.
Looking forward to it - see you tomorrow evening!
Cheers
Nicola
[:D] I’ll be there. Don’t even have to get up early for this one!!!
What a great evening - a realy good club night. Thanks everyone for not berating me over the ‘Loomies’ experience, wont go there agian in a hurry.
Looking forward to whatevers next
Drive safe
Ian
Really good drive - thanks for leading. I’ve never driven with the roof down in the dark before, so a whole new experience!
Will have to volunteer to lead one later in the year and get you folks over Salisbury way a bit!
Cheers
Nicola
Thanks again Ian for a fun (and interesting!) drive [:)]
Nicola, we’d be delighted for you to lead a drive over Salisbury way! I said to Chris when I got home that we needed to spread out to some different areas and meeting places, so that those of you further away aren’t at a disadvantage every time we meet. We certainly need some more volunteers as we still have some meeting dates with nothing specific planned.
I’ll work out which dates those are and add a forum post asking for volunteers to lead a drive [:)] I know May 20th (Wednesday evening) is the first one that needs to be organised, and that’s not far off!
