Exhaust Gas Recirc Valve on the NC Engine

Thanks - was thinking either thin longer screwdriver or very (very) small ratchet.

I’ve been dragged out shopping now for a couple of hours so I’ll see what I can find!

Thanks :+1:t2:

I also had two difficult to shift screws, one gave up to a 1/4” drive socket with a hexagon screwdriver bit on the end, the second surrendered too a 1/4” cold chisel and gentle swear words.

I sometimes find a crosshead screwdriver on a worn screwhead tends to wind out whereas a small flat screwdriver works. You could try an impact screwdriver with a suitable extension or - if all else fails- you will have to remove the complete EGR. Good luck.

Also remember that the screws on Jap cars are not normally philips head.
They are JIS head.
The JIS screwdrivers are a much better fit in the JIS screws.

A wallop with an old driver will shock them free. I had the same issue. One wallop and they came loose.

What a fantastic word, you must be as old as me to be using that!!
