Cypher My favourite photo (by none) is of your beauty outside of the AA box in Thornham Norfolk ! I have tried to copy your car profile upon my ‘own’ car Hope you didn’t mind … didn’t quite achieve it But totally enjoyable in attempting it, Ooops I’m sure you noted the typo mistake ! Can’t rely on these spelling aids…

Target;
Dukes Pass ( Stirlingshire’s mini-Stelvio as I call it) Kilmahog to Aberfoyle for a cheeseburger ( sans wife…zero pax) & latte.
Maybe she did not fancy puking into a mask.
Not so daft as it maybe looks… carparks were maybe a wee bit donut slippy (cough).
Wanted to “test” Progrip’s work re-torquing the whole chassis (& Hunter Lasering my preferred settings they have on file) The car is transformed…like new and probably better.
Well, got into it for a few miles and some jobsworth had other ideas.
The little jobbies :rage:
The road was fine, mostly dry, ice free. Bags of grip with the new Rainsports, which seem to marry up well with the settings. “Very pointy” and of course the Autobox is in a bin, and an excellent snicky 5 cogger fitted. It’s not any quicker at all, but just a bit more fun getting there.
Good visceral Mk1 stuff…maybe next time.
Like next week. :japanese_ogre:

Lunch at Loch Lubnaig will have to do.
Slumming it I know…but hey.

What came as a surprise was the fuel. I only use E5 anyhow as a rule but with the Auto I’d have got maybe 22-25mpg on a run like that…but I figure I returned around 32-odd despite being between 4 to 7k rpm …a lot. Fair one.
Still got the orignal 4.1 Open Diff as the JDM Autos were, and I have to say ( as a driver of my wife’s 02 Sport) so long as the chassis is tight, lasered, and shod well, tbh expensive LSDs in the Mk1 for road use, not competition, is nice to have at best for brownie points but pretty redundant.

A car park in Leicestershire.
Returned to the car to put stuff in the boot and caught a car park warden looking around it. I said I’ve got another hour yet (with a :grin:) she said I’ve not bothered looking at the time on the ticket, you’ve got one, I’m after the one’s who haven’t.:grin:
She went on to say I’m more interested in the car and asked I how keep it so clean etc…
