First time on track. What should I be aware of?

thanks for the reply Nick
is that an MX5 track day or just a normal track day , also does the club hold its own track days.
cheers Cliff

Ours are any car track days. Would be boring if all the cars were the same!

At Blyton, can you buy instructor lessons and are they worth it?

Thinking of going with my oh and having us both drive n get instruction.

We are both complete newbies. Also 2nd car can we turn up in a second car and just park it there for the day, might need it to tow the 5 home or go get a new tyre, store snacks, n oil etc…

I’m not sure whether instructors are available at Blyton, but if you give them a call I’m sure they’ll tell you. It’s certainly routine for instructors to be available at trackdays held on MSV circuits.

Did my first one at donnington recently with that provider. Was well organised but seemed like preseason testing as there wasn’t many road going cars there which made it fun.

Genuinely though everyone was very encouraging and had a great laugh.

-put decent track pads on we used ferodo (theyll last longer for each session).
-make sure you’re up to date with maintenance and your consumables are in good nick

  • go easy and take your time to get used to the feeling of the car
  • let your tyres warm and check pressures regularly
  • find your towing eye before you go!
  • plan if you’ll have enough fuel
  • take food
  • have fun!
