Flyin' Miata Turbo Exhaust on a non-turbo car?

I used to have a non-turbo Flyin Miata Exhaust on my Mk2.5. It sounded lovely but could have been louder. I remember there was an owner on here about 4 years ago who had an FM Turbo exhaust on his gold coloured non-turbo Mk2.

So if you’re still on here, or you’re the owner of a non-turbo with an FM Turbo exhaust - can you tell me if it’s OK or is it a bit too much? What’s the noise levels inside the car like? Are you happy or prematurely deaf!?? (Or both!)

 Cheers all!

I remember Phil D of Performance 5 once put a mk2 FM turbo duals on a 99 sport with no turbo - was “flashing blue lights” loud.

I think he only put it on there to see how loud it would be.
With no quieting effects of the turbo and no back pressure in the Turbo exhausts relatively, it was a real monster but I doubt you could get away with it for long. either from the Law or pass an MOT.

You mean Justin’s car. It was certainly loud prior to the FM2 being fitted.

I have a turbo car and you can almost run it with out any exhaust so it only need a little to take the edge off. Unlike ad NA car that realy needs good boxes on it. Also a turbo can dose not need any back presher as the turbo is sorting this for you.

Ahhh yes, Justin Peterson was the man!! Good remembering that man.

Umm i know it’s a few days late, but i bolted my FM turbo exhaust on prior to fitting the turbo…for the following few weeks it was like driving a spitfire!
It scared horses, it was far far far far far too loud, indeed police stopping loud. So my suggestion is don’t do it!

Thanks for the info guys. I’ll be gong with the NA version then!!!
