Fog Lamp Switch Bulb

Has anyone noticed that their dashboard switch bulbs are not working? I mean the ones that light up the fog lamp switch for example.  It’s not all that difficult to replace them - here is how I did mine…

First you need some new bulbs - they are 12V @ 30mA.  I bought ten for less than £5 from an electronic component supplier.

With the switch removed from the car carefully prise-off the front cover.  Be careful because the plastic is fragile.  You can remove the back connector section but the switch internals drop out and it’s tricky to fit back together.

You can now see the small inside.  By gripping the plastic holder pull out the bulb with a pair of long nose pliers.

Unthread the old bulb from the grey plastic holder and simply re-thread the new bulb in the same way.  Be careful not to short circuit the bulb otherwise this may damage the dashboard brightness controller or take out a fuse. Refit the bulb; re-assemble the switch and job done.

Headlight Height Adjuster

This one is similar to the previous but this time remove the back section to show the small PCB inside.
