Why not Ultimax disks and pads?
quality standard spec pads and disks are your best bet for road use, (EBC Ultimax, Mintex) etc. To get drilled/grooved disks and competition pads up to a good working temperature on public roads (until which you will be standing on the pedal to get any real braking effect) will probably result in you losing your licence before the pads have a chance to bed in. This is just my opinion and i’m sure others will be along with different ideas to help you decide.
Do you get brake fade often on the brakes you already have? Probably not…
The standard set-up on an MX5/ Eunos is pretty good and they dont cry
enough!` without severe provocation and abuse. If you are going to do track days often then the EBC expensive coloured variety are probably worth the huge amount of money they demand for them, the OEM spec Ultimax are fine (and a damn sight cheaper) for 99.9% of applications, the dimple-drilled discs are a better bet than the fully drilled variety, as these can crack with time. Pay no more than £35+ del. a pair for front discs

I have EBC Green Stuff on my MK1, they are fine for me with mostly road use, and I think were cheaper than standard mazda pads. I drove on track with Red Stuff at the weekend however (first time since they were put on the car with various other brake upgrades), they were good when warmed up but not when cold at all I felt. Straight out of the pits on cold pads, and lack of braking power was very noticable on the first corner… but fine after. So for that reason I would not go for Red for road use…
Where from? Mx5parts have the standards discs for £58 before vat and delivery?
Have a look at Brakeparts.co.uk, they have some reasonable prices for standard vented discs.
Update: just had a look at the ebay shop I bought them from namely http://stores.ebay.co.uk/performance-discs are now only listing 1.6 and turbo discs in the same style as my 256mm fronts at an eye-watering £94.99, free delivery mind, looks like mine were a bargain at the time (Nov 2010)http://stores.ebay.co.uk/brake-depot-01246-569900
These people seem a bit more like it http://stores.ebay.co.uk/brake-depot-01246-569900

MX5parts prices include VAT, and those are the genuine Mazda discs. OE (SolidAce) are £46 a pair. Also check Brakes International, who supply “Bremtech” discs for the 1.8 for much the same.
You cannot go wrong with the OE pads for fast roads motorways, track is a different ball game, but as Taff as said don,t knock the standard set up…it works well.
