Front wheel 'clonk' on full lock

As per subject title, really.

At crawling, manoeuvering speed with wheels on full lock, I’m getting a fairly loud ‘clonk’ from the front wheel(s) - also discernible through the steering wheel.  Seems to correspond to a single wheel rotation.

It’s been too dark and wet to get under and have a proper look.  I replaced ARB droplinks for MoT back in August this year.

I’m guessing there’s a fairly obvious answer - anyone?

TIA  Steve

Possible play in a ball joint?

Usually the first response to this is drive shafts, of course this would be nonsense on a rear wheel drive vehicle!

As it happens once per revolution it’s likely to be something attached to your wheel or brake disc. Or worst case a wheel bearing has gone.

I would suggest balljoint Steve.

These get to a certain point and then let go of all wear/movement potential, hence the clonk.

Hopefully the MK1. not the MK3 as control arms and joints combined and expensive on MK3?

you are going to have to get the corners jacked up and levered to confirm. Possible to get full front end off the ground and have someone turn the steering wheel to observe first hand.

Have you had a wheel alignment done recently? Are the adjuster bolts nipping the bushes properly?

I have the exact same issue on full lock (left). Have taken the car to two different garages (one of which very well known MX5 specialist) and they couldn’t identify where the noise is coming from.

Have you had any luck with yours?

If it’s only in reverse it may well be the tyres crabbing on the road surface. Was that on my mk2
