That’s not good, take care with your health first I guess. I’ve got a friend with similar health problems thankfully he’s on the mend after taking meds and regular docs/hospital visits.
Sadly, that issue, combined with a DVT and blood clot, and then rheumatoid arthritis, whenusing the clutch, and getting in and out became too painful, I faced the same dilemma in the summer of
last year. It was with great (and sad) reluctance, I had to let someone else have the pleasure of my lovely ND.
I hope he/she is enjoying the experience as I face future motoring with an auto hybrid.
My problem was fixed with radiotherapy, but not everyone has the same symptoms with the prostate, still driving the NA, 79 last week
They came to me out of the blue as an unpleasant surprise in 2016; 3-4 contained.
I was given several of choices of treatment, but “elected” for a few weeks of immediate inconvenience following an op, instead of months of chemo and radio possibly repeated in later years.
Six weeks later it was removed via a few keyholes. Surgeon was absolutely brilliant and has an appropriate name “Winkler.” Only one night in hospital.
Since then apart from a regular blood test for monitoring, now down to once a year, I’ve not needed any other remedial treatment and have no symptoms.
NHS is truly wonderful, I owe my life to them.
Mine was still in the “capsule” 4 weeks of radio therapy followed by blood tests every three months, fingers crossed alls still ok.
Everybody out there, GET CHECKED!
I’ve had prostate problems over the last few years but the last 3 months have been the worst, groin, back and abdominal pain, psa up and down, continuous infections and not a lot of sleep. Thankfully not cancer, but lesions on the prostate, consultant is very helpful so hopefully things will improve.
I also have a Toyota Corolla GR Sport with excellent seats, and can be raised to a height to take pressure off the prostate.
I have bit the bullet today, had a good offer from my supplying Mazda Dealership and take the car in tomorrow for the dealer to purchase the car off me. Sad day, but there you go 28 years of MX-5 ownership over.
Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. ![]()
That’s an excellent way of looking at it. ![]()
Have had some great times in my MX-5’s, many drives to Snetterton and Cadwell circuits to watch classic car racing.
I still fondly remember my first NA in 1997. In BR Green. No electric windows, no air con, but a great car.
It’s tough when these things happen I agree. At least you have the memories.
Just got my prostate results: Gleason 3+3. Nothing serious, but caught early thanks to a PSA test at 55.
Glad I got checked, recommend it– if you’re eligible, don’t put it off, get tested!
Good news! But don’t be complacent, three years after an all clear I had it.. keep checking.
