Got a gripe with getting going on hills, be it at lights or turning into a road. I really have to let the revs build then let out the clutch to get going… It really must look like I don’t know how to drive! Now I’ve just changed from a 53 plate Corsa diesel, never had this problem in that, I could hill-start perfectly… Is it just me not being used to the cars biting point or differences between petrol/diesel, age? Or just me needing more practice in it?!

I would suggest its probably the petrol diesel thing. The difference between driving a diesel Corsa and a petrol 5 must be huge… Keep practicing… I went the other way last year, got a diesel (auto) daily drive for the first time and it took me ages to get used to driving that, particulary pulling away… !
