Going to look at a car. HELP

^^^^ Should have told the OP this before the viewing.

I viewed a Mk2, lovely looking car highly polished clean interior etc etc. Advertised far too cheaply to be nothing wrong with it, I was correct.

Before I even asked questions I took a cursory glance at both rear wheel arch/sill areas which did show slight signs of bubbles under the paint. I then asked the owner to pop the bonnet open, first thing I did was reach down and feel under the OS front chassis rail, my hand came back out with a large chunk of rusty metal and other debris from the car. Showed this to the owner and said, your rails are gone, he replied it’s got an MOT so must be ok. I closed the bonnet and said it needs sorting then said bye bye.

Yep these problems can be fixed but who wants that sort of job to have to pay out on top of the purchae price. I really believe the owner of the one I viewed knew about the problem he had with his, I kinda got a feeling about it before I even got there from questions asked beforehand. Still you can come across genuine cars/owners etc sometimes, seek and you shall find.

Well I bought it  Good condition generally, loads of paperwork which i need to sift through, it has had a repair to the N/S front chassis leg but after reading some of the posts on here i’m not surprised, needs a couple of parking dings taking out, the aircon needs regassing but everything else is fine, the hard top is in fair condition but genuine, the vinyl hood you could live with but I’ll replace it, tyres all good, drives well no knocks creaks or bangs, I asked why he was selling and he had done a wopping 600 miles in 18 months and was under pressure from his wife, best news was he took a bid on it   then it needs detailing.
