As the title says, I need a good garage in the Poole/Bournemouth area for servicing and MOT’s.

MX5 Parts in Portsmouth…same sort of distance from you as Autolink so another option. Probably a bit more expensive but always done a good job for me…
Well if you’re prepared to travel from Stratford-upon-Avon to go there I can’t argue with that…
To be fair I work down there two or three days a week and sometimes I give myself a treat by taking the 5…top down all the way naturally! [:D] Last time I took it down I had MX5 parts fit one of their fab twin exhausts and do an MOT and basic service to keep the history up to date. They do a great job. Otherwise I’d use Sam Goodwin in Nuneaton but he isn’t exactly handy for you either!
I’m in bournemouth, do most things myself on mine and willing to give you a hand if you fancy a tinker and save yourself a few quid…

I know you have been offered some help now, but for some jobs I use the local main dealer, Magna Mazda Poole. Before you go into shock they are really good to Wessex Club members and support various local events. Apart from that you can get I think it’s a 10% discount on parts and labour.
I do most of my own servicing and repairs but as I don’t have a garage or hard standing only grass to work on and I have had them do two jobs,my cam belt and my replaced the clutch. These were done at a price equal to other local independant garages so as they are the specialists they got my custom. They are also quite happy to work on Eunos Roadsters as mine is with no hang ups about it being a non UK car.
I am in Bournemouth and have had my 5 for just over 2 years so know a bit about them and am happy to offer any advice I can help.
No that’s good to bear in mind too - thank you for that… Not a member of the club though, can’t decide if it’s worth it or not… What do you get for the money?
I drive past there quite often but yet to pop in, good to know they come recommended in case i mess things up…
Joining the owners club gets you a nice little logo under your avatar, some stickers, a few discounts here and there and a magazine in the post every now and again…
BTW the three of us should meet up at some point over a beer, talk modifications, advice etc etc…
Another heads up for Magna Mazda in Canford Village though I do appreciate you may not want to pay main dealer prices.
Trouble with garages is I always wonder how thoroughly they do a job (not talking about Magna Mazda) so it’s good if somebody can recommend a good independent but really you need someone who has a knowledge of MX5s.
I used Magna Mazda in Poole once - NEVER AGAIN! My car went in for an MOT fine, and came back broken. Avoid.
Shame you had a bad experience with Magna Poole. They did my clutch and cam belt without issue. I have had a few issues with my 323 air con but that is the car not them. As I understand it the service manager I dealt with has moved to Magna Christchurch so dont know if that has caused any issues. Out of interest what was wrong with your car after MOT.
Decided to use Magna Mazda (Canford Village) as I’ve only owned it 5 months, wanted to make sure it’s all ok and tip-top, thought a main dealer would be best for that.

But anyway, I wouldn’t advise using the email contact us form cos you won’t get a reply, however I have no complaints so far.
They picked the car up free of charge and dropped it off again, the car had to stay in for a couple of days as it needed a particular part for it. It came back cleaned inside and out, polished and with a replaced tax disc holder (the old one was a Toyota one) and a free Magic Tree air freshener, ok the both of them cost a couple of quid but I thought it was a nice touch.
Thursday just gone it had it’s MOT which it sailed through (should hope so following the £988 service!) but again it was picked up and dropped off gratis.
The ladies on the phone are quite stuck up and lack any communication skills but no complaints in the area that matters (mechanics)
