Greatest Live Music Performances

Would love to buy them off you but myself and wife are both ‘very high risk’ and avoiding as much outside contact as realistically feasible :frowning:

Live Aid, difficult to beat that one. That’s me and the misses under the red arrow.

I remember that and not trying to book tickets because most of the acts back then I wasn’t interested in…! But that was Queens finest moment and now regret not being there… Luckily I saw them the following year at Knebworth at the last Performance of The Magic Tour (Freddies last live gig)

one of the best live bands you could have ever heard was Marillion. when fish was with them.
Their live sound was so good it actually sounded like you were listening to an album and not a concert!

in fact, at the last fish concert in Milwaukee, they did the song Fugazi so well it was better than the studio version!

here is a playlist from that concert. with fairly decent sound quality for a youtube video

as to concerts iv attended.
machine head at Notts rock city mid-90s
down and then a few months later slipknot at Notts rock city late 90s maybe early 2000s

we were actually on the guestlist for the slipknot concert after my friend paul and I met their guitarist in the Nottingham music shop where he and paul sat playing guitar together for nearly 2 hours. while i wondered round the shop bored outa my skull!

I went to “Bat out of Hell - The Musical” this week. Really wish I hadn’t… And I wont be going to another ‘Musical’…

Best concert - so many… Peter Gabriel mid '80s. Hawkwind at the Astoria just before it closed, All About Eve in the Albert Hall.
Couldn’t bring my self to see the Genesis Last Domino tour, but did see Steve Hackett do the ‘Seconds Out’ set late last year - which was awesome.

Classic album, Keith Moon at his best on drums

Can’t choose - but here goes with my Highlights:
Derek and the Dominoes at my college May Ball (Layla),
ZZ Top at Milton Keynes Bowl (Afterburner Tour - great performance of Sharp Dressed Man), Rick Wakeman on Ice at Wembley (KIng Arthur - Rick is an amazing keyboard performer - shame about the ‘on ice’ bit!)
Led Zeppelin (Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven + first use of lasers in the UK)
Thin Lizzy - also at my college. The Boys were Back in Town there a couple of times)
Hamilton Loomis Gigs - never been to a bad one.
