For years there were two cars I wanted. One was a Mercedes W123. It is an armchair of car. Soft like a marshmellow and slow as a koala bear with nowhere to go. I got one and I love it.
The other though was an MX-5. I always loved old English open top cars ever since my Uncle took me out in his mk2 Triumph Spitfire. I want the same experience but with Japenese reliability. Hence the MX-5.
My excuse for buying it is that I recently got married and the wife needed a car. She is happy to share though.
Forgive the crappy mobile phone pictures but the car is to be collected on Friday.
It is a 1997 NA 1.8iS. I am not sure what extras the “S” has apart from power steering but she who must be obeyed wanted power steering as she suffers from a bad back. It is BRG and has 101K miles and full service history. I am waiting for the dealer to do a full service including the brakes and put a years MOT on it.
The address of the images doesn’t seem to get along with the forum software - when I first looked they were the same, but with a bit of tweaking I got them working in IE - I’m guessing the rest of you use firefox though?
I’ve copied them over to imageshack now, so everything should be fine [Y]
Welcome to the forum, not only have have you chose an iconic car, but the wonderful Brirtish Racing Green, very nice.[H] By the way I too have a very bad back which at times puts pay to me doing anything, but when I’m mobile I get on very well with the 5 and find it very easy to get in and out of in fact better than some ‘normal’ cars and the driving position is great, I’m sure your wife will love it.[:D]
