Indeed I would have done but it was an xmas present from me.
Anyway just had Jan’s Mk 2.5 out for a top down spin for the last
time.
She will be missed, it’s been a fine car we’ve owned her for four
years
and in that time aside from normal service parts she’s had.
1 replacement aerial mast when it was still under warranty.
1 battery failed last year.
1 pair rear discs.
We’ve had two trips down to the Dordogne in her, never missed a
beat both times. Jan has used her daily for work and it only ever let her down once (battery refered to above)
The only thing really that we never got sorted was the juddery
clutch which we learned to live/drive with that common 5 issue.
Here’s to hoping the Mk. 3 carries on the tradition.
If anybody on here ends up with it you will be getting a
damn good vehicle.
Before I start - fed up of trying to find out why Firefox’s in line spell checker will still not work with this forum so forgive any typo’s
OK the pick up went well (apart from me losing Jan’s driving licence - but that’s another story…)
Drive home and first impressions???
Just great - taught, rattle and scuttle shake free.
The height and reach adjustable seats and wheel make for a much more comfortable driving experience, a punchier 1.8i engine that gives a kick in the back.
Exhaust note outside - just great, inside?? just enough gearbox/transmission noise to know you are driving a great 2 seat sports car… it’s a 5 if you’ve driven one you know’ll what I mean…[:D]
Jan loves the radio/CD controls on the wheel and the ability to play MP3’s burnt to a CD.
It was raining when we picked it up so top not yet down but when it is I’m sure the single catch will be a boon.
Photos to be posted soon but meanwhile very happy…
Good luck with it … I am seriously tempted by the latest offers of a 2.0 with Climate and Leather for £13,495 …
I didn’t think the CD played MP3 discs? Despite what the words say on the front I thought the UK cars didn’t get the MP3? Maybe they have rectified that now?
Be quick - prices are climbing, when we picked up Jan’s today there was a new red 1.8 marked up in the showroom for £13,995, wasn’t the option pack, and had no leather or Climate.
Yes the CD player has MP3 on the front and according to the supplied manual it plays MP3’s, haven’t tried it but the manual refers to players marked with MP3 as being capable of doing so… we’ll see…(not the end of the world though if it doesn’t it’s a great car…)
Not down here in the South, noy yet anyway - my local Mazda dealer has the stock he had 7 months ago.
But, Spring is coming - the sun is out - people are more settled after the Financial scare of last year and are starting to buy cars and houses again … so, maybe, prices are firming?
I would be really interested to hear if the CD plays MP3’s as that’s a great thing - 225 songs on a 10p Disc is brilliant!
