If you have problems finding a Kuhmo 39 I recently took 3 Khumos and a nasty budget tyre off to replace them with the quieter Dunlops. So I have 3 x Kuhmos with 6 - 6.5mm on them, no punctures or damage and I’m after £25 each for them. Problem is that I’m in West Sussex but I’ve no doubt they can be couriered.
Sounds like a great price, thanks for the offer. Already got one ordered which according to the tracking info is currently at our local DPD depot. There are some out there still, mine came from Holland so they are probably few and far between! Might be worth putting them in the for sale section though.
So here’s the update. This was what was found on the MOT.
Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover excessively deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (2.4.G.2)
front brake application uneven (3.7.B.2)
Offside front brake binding (3.7.B.1)
Don’t think the drop link would have caused the problem. Didn’t mention any wear and I previously had a front drop link completely snapped and it still drove in a straight line under acceleration.
I was aware of the binding front brake but this was only very slight. It would still roll on a very slight incline and didn’t pull to one side. Could only detect it when rolling to a standstill and then only at the very last moment.
So the Hankook has been replaced with a Kumho to match the rest. Part worns from the front placed on the rear, new tyre and part worn from the back now on the front.
I could tell the difference as soon as I drove away. Found a nice straight back road with zero traffic and hammered it through the gears several times. Even on slightly uneven sections and with the odd very shallow pothole she drove straight and true. No pulling, no wandering, no drama.
