Hardtop Rain gutter

Getting fed up of a wet bum when the window is open, thought this may be OK.

Anybody tried to put a rain gutter on their hardtop? Suggestions and advice much appreciated.Smile

Ha ha, harsh but fair Stick Tongue Out

Delivery time is 2-4 weeks!! Hoped someone had found another product

…but not the Fiamma Drip Stop Rail. Wite rail on black hardtop = YUK!!!Shock

Smile of the day, thanks.

how about a meter of http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/U-CHANNEL-RUBBER-WHEEL-ARCH-TRIM-6MM-WIDE-CLASSIC-MINI-COOPER-/380426748271?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item589333816f cut it down the middle so you have both sides, id use weather proof double sided tape to curve and stick it on.rain would fall into the channel and not on your swim suit

Hmmm…why do you think I wear a swimsuit in the 5? Wink

Good idea, I’d thought of something similar and fired emails out to a few of the rubber extrusion suppliers for more info on some promising profiles.

Will keep this updated and take some pics when I fit them. There are quite a few reads of this thread so might be worth doing a DIY guide.

sorry to revive an old thread but wondering if you had an success ?

I
have found a product that is designed for the purpose but they are
quite expensive and I am hoping somebody came up with a cheaper option
or could fabricate a plastic or generic fiberglass option. Failng that i
am going to have to resort to trying to make a diy option.

here is a link to the company that makes the rails up though (the cheapest option at $100 seems a little steep for fiberglass)

Not yet. Been looking at rubber/neoprene trim strip but not yet found anything that looks OK but is big enough to catch the water with a suitable bend radius.

Fiamma do something similar but only in white. Two of these should do http://www.outdoorbits.com/fiamma-drip-stop-75cm-p-939.html even better if they can be painted.

The Fiamma rails are polyvinyl and so probably wont take paint sadly.

Looks like i am going to have to buy. I have trawled various forums and threads and these are as good as anybody has managed to get (they appear to be a clone of a more expensive but plastic version) they are not perfect and there is overflow apparently but they do help to reduce the problem.

I am tempted by the van stuff you originally found as its less obvious and will kind of sit with me Racing Green 5  as I have a hard vinyl finish roof  going on

Could try this
