Thank you Captain Muppet, that’s just the sort of explanation I’ve been looking for - much clearer now.
Really then, so long as I’m not silly I shouldn’t notice any difference. Would I have to learn how to drift safely before attempting a track day (as I did in my Merlot) or would even that, in the dry, be OK. It’s still an MX-5 after all isn’t it?!
With track days it shouldn’t really make that much difference - with or without an LSD on a track the attidute towards oversteer should be to kill it with a “dab of oppo” and carry on round the track. The point at which you encounter oversteer will change with an LSD, but not the friendly way that MX5s tell you what is happening. No need to learn drifting first, or indeed at all.
Drifting is fun, but much slower on corner exit, and it gets you black flagged on most track days. Plus you tend to crash more [:D]
Hi Robbie,
Ive got a 92 1.6 maual V Special (brg, tan trim) and i may need to change the diff. From this information are you able to tell me what type of diff it is?
Thanks,
Adam
