They will have the correct equipment and perhaps more importantly, experience of how to use it.
Do an internet search for headlamp restoration in your area
I restored my mk2.5 headlights using Autoglym’s Headlight Restoration Kit. You basically use 4 different abrasiveness sanding papers (with electric drill), and finish up with polish. It took me several hours to do, but it worked very well!.

P.S. Make sure you use a lot of masking tape around headlights.

Prob much cheaper than a ‘kit’, as well - especially if you already have the constituent gubbins in the garage/shed
Hi, I’m a newby, and have removed clouding from outside headlamp, but the majority seems to be inside… I guess this is a whole new problem. Any advice please?

Hi folks, I have read about so many options to remove the dull aged look to the headlamps and found Solvol Autosol perfect for the job. Just use a small amount on a small area and buff up , great result !!! continued with the whole headlamp ,very happy. Only a cloth needed !!
