Heater

Hi

Just before laying my 94 Eunos up for the winter I had a full coolant hose replacement set fitted by my local trusted specialist.

Whilst fortnightly starting and running up to temperature in the garage, temperature gauge rises fairly steadily to mid point but heater blows out stone cold air. Presume maybe an airlock/thermostat issue as coincidental with hose change ?

Thankyou.

Maybe, what year of car and what engine size.

Thankyou. It’s a 1994, 1.8 litre.

Have 2 litres of premixed antifreeze available to pour in.

If possible jack up front end of car in a safe manner say 150mm.

Set heater to hot but not convinced that is a requirement any more.

Assuming engine is cold, take radiator cap off, that is the radiator cap not the expansion bottle cap.

Start engine and wait for it getting up to temperature and the cooling fan comming on 15 to 20 minutes.

As this is happening squeeze the large hoses but do not get caught up in the cooling fan.

With some luck the coolant level will drop in the radiator, if so then top up the coolant to the top of the radiator neck.

Wait another 10 minutes just in case the coolant level drops again and if so top up again.

If that does not sort it change the thermostat.

Thanks for the advice.
